The HiLite and VFI 2 are compact but powerful visible red laser sources designed to troubleshoot faults on fiber optic cables. Light generated by these units will escape from sharp bends and breaks in jacketed or bare fibers.
They can identify faults in fiber optic jumper cables, distribution frames, patch panels, and splice trays.
The HiLite and VFI 2 are an excellent complement to an OTDR because they locate faults inside the OTDR's dead-zone. Other applications include end-to-end continuity checks, identifying connectors in patch panels and fibers during splicing operations. The universal connector interface provides fast operation with many connector styles without changing an adapter.

The ORL 3 provides the ability to perform both return loss (ORL mode), and loss measurements (OLTS mode) at 1310nm, 1550nm, and 1625nm. The selectable threshold function is available for each wavelength when measuring in the ORL mode. When measurements exceed the set threshold level then PASS will appear in the liquid crystal display.
